Choi- Soon-hwa was a finalist at the 2024 Miss Universe Korea pageant, competing with women a quarter her age.

She fell short of her bid to become the oldest Miss Universe contestant.

But Choi came away with the “best dresser" award at the local pageant.

 

Choi: Even at this age, I had the courage to grab onto an opportunity and take on a challenge.

 

The former hospital care worker first broke down barriers by embarking on a modelling career in her 70s, making her anunlikely fashion star.

 

Choi: I want people to look at me and realize that you can live healthier and find joy in life when you find things you want to do and challenge yourself to achieve that dream. I want you to do exactly that.
