Welcome to our exciting adventure into the world of
shadows!
Today we're going to explore what shadows are and how
they form.
Have you ever noticed your shadow following you around
on a sunny day?
Shadows are made when an object blocks light.
See how the shadow appears on the ground behind the
person?
That's because their body is stopping the light from
reaching that spot.
Shadows are like silhouettes of objects!
A silhouette is an outline of something, usually
filled in, in black and on a white background.
Did you know that shadows change throughout the day?
That's because the position of the sun changes as it
moves across the sky.
In the early morning and late afternoon, shadows are
long because the sun is low.
But at midday, when the sun is high, shadows are
short!
Shadows can be cast by all sorts of things, like
trees, buildings, and even clouds!
Anything that blocks light creates a shadow.
You can even make shadows with a lamp in your house.
Why don't you give it a try?
So, next time you're outside on a sunny day, take a
moment to look at the shadows around you.
See you next time. Goodbye.
