Pakistani artist Bilal Asif lives and works in the city of Karachi. His work involves delicately carving and assembling thousands and thousands of pencils into large sculptures. Bilal etches and carves intricate details into the pencils, before working them into his constructions. His magnum opus so far is a swing, crafted from 45,000 pencils, which took him over two-and-a-half years to put together. Bilal says he hopes the swing will land him in the Guinness Book of World Records.​

They say everybody has a talent and for one artist in Pakistan that talent is making large structures out of pencils.

The Lalasif lives and works in the city of Karachi. 

His work involves delicately carving and assembling thousands and thousands of pencils into things. 

His Magnum Opus so far is a swing Crafted from 45,000 pencils.

Pencils are a tried and true medium for many artists the typically we think of them as being used for 2Ddrawings.

In Bilal's case the writing implements themselves are the building blocks of the piece. 

Bilal etches and carves intricate details into the pencils before working them into his constructions.

It took him over two and a half years to put together his swing and when you see it you understand why Bilal says he hopes the swing will land him inthe Guinness Book of World Records.
