College Students Select Most Preferred Company

Which companies do Korean college students wish to work for? A recent survey tried to find the answer to this very question.

Incruit, a job search website, conducted the survey in May and released the results in August. For the survey, 872 university students were asked about their preferences for employment.

Overall, tech giant Samsung Electronics was selected as the most preferred company. The multinational corporation received 8.1 percent of the total votes.

Moreover, the majority of the respondents who chose Samsung Electronics said their preference was due to the company¡¯s high salary and good benefits.

Meanwhile, Kakao and Naver Corporation came in second and third in the survey, respectively. Kakao had topped the survey for three consecutive years since 2020. However, it fell by one notch this year.

The other companies in the top 10 were Hyundai Motor Company, Amorepacific Corporation, CJ ENM, SK Hynix, Samsung C&T, Korean Air, and CJ Cheiljedang.

According to the survey organizers, most respondents voted for companies that they believed offered a satisfactory salary. Employee welfare and fair compensation for performance were also crucial factors in their decision.

On the other hand, the opportunity to learn and grow in their field was less of a factor than in previous years.

5. Do you think the preference of college students for specific companies reflects the overall job market trends? Why or why not?
